How Lumumba Owano Advocates collects, uses and protects the personal information you share with us through this website.
Last updated November 2026
1. Information We Collect
When you send a consultation request, we receive the details you choose to provide: your full name, email address, phone number, the practice area you select, the urgency of your matter and your matter summary. The website prepares your request as a WhatsApp message or email that you send yourself; the website does not store it. We use this information solely to assess and respond to your request.
2. Confidentiality & Privilege
Information you send us through the intake form is held in confidence and treated as privileged to the extent provided by law. Submitting a request does not of itself create an advocate-client relationship; engagement is confirmed in writing. Your matter summary is not published, shared with third parties or used for marketing.
3. Lawful Basis & Data Protection
We process personal data in accordance with the Data Protection Act, 2019 and our professional obligations under the Advocates Act. We process your information on the basis of your consent and our legitimate interest in responding to your enquiry and conducting conflict checks.
4. Storage & Access
Requests reach chambers through WhatsApp or email, which are subject to those services' own security and privacy terms. Within chambers, access is limited to the advocates and staff who assess intake requests. We retain records for as long as necessary to respond to your request and to comply with our professional and legal obligations.
6. Your Rights
You may ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information you submitted, subject to our retention obligations under Kenyan law. To do so, write to owanoadvocate@gmail.com.
7. Contact
Questions about this policy may be directed to chambers at P.O. Box 17178-00510, Nairobi, Kenya, or by telephone on +254 790 663 852.
