Practice Area 01

Medical Malpractice & Clinical Negligence

Our specialism. We act for patients and families harmed by negligent medical care, against private and public hospitals, clinics and practitioners across Kenya.

Overview

When medical care falls below the standard patients are entitled to expect, the consequences can be devastating: a lifelong injury, a lost pregnancy, a delayed cancer diagnosis or the death of a loved one. Medical malpractice is the core of our practice, and we bring focused experience to these claims.

We investigate what went wrong, obtain and review the medical records, instruct independent medical experts and pursue fair compensation through negotiation or the courts. We also guide families through complaints to the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC) where professional conduct is in question.

These claims are technically and emotionally demanding. We handle them with rigour, compassion and complete confidentiality.

How It Works

How a claim works

  1. 1

    Confidential consultation

Tell us what happened. We listen, explain your rights and identify the key questions.

  2. 2

    Records and investigation

We obtain the medical records and build a clear timeline of the care you received.

  3. 3

    Independent expert review

A qualified medical expert assesses whether the care met the accepted standard and caused the harm.

  4. 4

    Claim and resolution

We pursue compensation through negotiation, mediation or the courts, and advise on any KMPDC complaint.

Time limits apply

Negligence claims in Kenya are generally subject to a three-year limitation period, and claims against public bodies can be subject to different rules. Seek advice as early as possible.
