Our Story
From commercial law to medical malpractice.
Lumumba Owano Advocates was founded by Lumumba Lena Owano, Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and Commissioner for Oaths, and registered with the Law Society of Kenya in 2024. The firm was built on corporate and commercial law: advising businesses, entrepreneurs and investors on their structures, contracts and compliance.
Along the way, our founder was drawn to medical malpractice. These cases demand forensic attention to evidence, a command of medical detail and a willingness to stand up to powerful institutions on behalf of patients and families who have suffered serious harm. Medical malpractice and clinical negligence are now the firm's specialism.
We continue to advise businesses on corporate and commercial matters, commercial contracts, regulatory compliance, employment and property transactions. As Commissioners for Oaths, we also commission affidavits and statutory declarations, usually on the same day.
